Our History
You’re among friends at First Baptist Church of Milaca. We welcome you to grow with us as we are continually growing and developing as God allows. This church has been established in Milaca since 1893 and has grown from a humble wooden structure to a new facility located at the heart of Milaca. The wooden structure was replaced with a modern two-story brick building that could seat 275 with a full basement and a hot air furnace. It was dedicated on March 25, 1906. A disastrous fire on November 2, 1924 left nothing but a shell of walls after the battle to squelch the flames by the local fire department was defeated. The church was rebuilt and dedicated on May 17, 1925. The church family soon out grew this building and began building the current church in 2003. Many members of the congregation can recall the history of the church as families have been attending generation after generation.
At First Baptist, we offer a wide variety of ministries covering all sorts of areas, in which you are invited to join in! People of all ages will quickly find a ministry or opportunity to get involved in. One of our great commissions given to us by God as Christians is to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ near and far and to as many people as possible. These, and other, ministries and opportunities available to you at First Baptist Church will help to enable us all to fulfill that commission.
While we know that particular ministries are not necessarily for everyone, simply coming to Sunday services — joining us in worshipping our Lord is a ministry of sorts. The proper care and maintenance of our own souls is a responsibility given us upon our births. Worshipping our "God in Three Persons" is ministry to ourselves and one to which we have all been called. Interacting with our friends and neighbors socially and spiritually is also a ministry in that this sort of activity is good for our collective soul.
